20% Bonus on Conversion Between Accor & JAL

Accor and Japan Airlines are offering their members 20% Bonus points/miles on transfers. Here are the details.

Regular Transfer Between Accor & JAL

• Accor to Japan Airlines (JAL):
  • Transfer Ratio: 2:1
  • Minimum Transfer: 4000
• Japan Airlines (JAL) to Accor:
  • Transfer Ratio:5000:1000 or 5:1 (Only on Single Transfer of 5000 Points)
  • 10000:4000 or 5:2 (Minimum Transfer of 10K & in multiples of 5K)

20% Bonus on Transfers Between Accor & JAL

Here are the details of the Promotion:

• Conversion Date: 1 March 2025 to 31 March 2025 (JST)
• Bonus: 20%
• ALL to JAL:
  • 4000:2400 (2000 Base Miles+20% Bonus,400 Miles)
• JAL to ALL:
  • 5000:1200 (1000 Base Points+20% Bonus, 200 Points)
  • 10000:4800 (4000 Base Points+20% Bonus, 800 Points)
• There is no limit on conversion.
• The Bonus Points or Miles will be credited within 10 Business Days after a successful conversion.

Is it worth it?

Both ALL Points & JAL Miles are valuable. So, even with a 20% Bonus, transferring doesn’t make sense. However, one rare case would be when your JAL Miles expires. The JAL miles have a hard expiry of 36 months unless you are a JGC member, where validity can be 60 months or no expiry, depending upon the status. You can also transfer JAL miles to Marriott at a 4:3 ratio, but it could be worth less than ALL Points. From ALL to JAL doesn’t make sense; earning one ALL point can extend the validity of points by 365 days. So, it does not make sense to transfer ALL points.

After conversion, the Accor Points will give ₹0.87 or 1¢ value per JAL Miles transferred as they have a fixed value of €40 per 2000 points. However, there could be options other than flying to use JAL Miles.

Bottomline

Accor & JAL offer a 20% Bonus on conversion from Accor to JAL or vice-versa. For ALL members, it doesn’t make sense to transfer ALL Points. However, for JAL members whose miles are expiring and there is no use, you can transfer them to ALL and get a 20% Bonus. The Accor Points will give ₹0.87 or 1¢ value per JAL Miles after conversion as Accor Points have a fixed value of €40 per 2000 points.
