I have always been amused by Virgin Atlantic, specifically its frequent flyer program. Sometimes they give us bad news & sometimes good news. And, there is actually some good news for everyone, not just frequent travellers. Virgin Atlantic High Five is an added benefit for members of Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, which gets activated after five years of consistent or inconsistent flying. Nice right.
Virgin Atlantic High Five Milestone Benefit
Starting January 1, 2026, Virgin Atlantic will introduce a milestone benefit for its Flying Club members. Unlike other milestone benefits, which typically get activated after flying a minimum number of miles, here the benefit gets activated when you fly for five years with Virgin Atlantic. The best part is that the flying need not be consecutive for five years.
How to activate Milestone Benefit?
Virgin Atlantic High Five milestone benefit gets activated when:
- Fly Virgin Atlantic five times.
- Flying is in a different year.
- Flying five times in a single year doesn’t activate the benefit.
- The number of flights gets tracked back from 1st January 2021. So, if you have already flown Virgin Atlantic five times in five different years, the milestone benefit will be activated.
What is the milestone benefit?
Once you activate the milestone benefit, you get:
- 12000 Points (Only once)
- 10% Bonus points on all subsequent flights for Red members. (Lifetime benefit for red members)
The benefit is also available to members with a family pooling account.
Other Important Details
- Only flights taken as a Flying Club member count towards a High Five.
- Virgin Atlantic operated flights count.
- One flight per year can be counted towards a High Five.
Bottomline
Virgin Atlantic High Five is a valuable Milestone Benefit that will be available starting January 1, 2026. If you have already flown Virgin Atlantic in the five years starting 1st January 2021, you will get 12000 points and 10% bonus points on all subsequent flights if you are a red member.
