Virgin Atlantic has a regular status match year-round and has now launched the “Save your tiers” promotion for British Airways elite members.
Virgin Atlantic Status Match Promotion for British Airways Members
Until 23 February, members of The British Airways Club can level up with an enhanced status match:
- BA Bronze matches to Flying Club Silver.
- BA Silver matches the Flying Club Gold
- BA Gold matches Flying Club Gold.
However, at the time of the status match, you should have a confirmed Virgin Atlantic flight booking. Both paid & award flights are eligible.
For the Flying Club Silver match, you need an economy flight; for the Flying Club Gold match, you need a Premium or Upper Class booking.
You can submit the status match request between 10 February and 23 February 2026. This status match will be valid for 12 months from the date the member’s Flying Club account is upgraded. You can use this promotion even if you have used the Virgin Atlantic Status match promotion in the past five years until 23 February 2026.
Is it worth it?
Virgin Atlantic already has a status match promotion that you can use even with select other airline status. Since this is a free status match and is available to members with an existing booking, it is indeed a worthwhile promotion. However, once you use it, you may not use the status match promotion for the next 5 years unless specifically excluded, such as this promotion.

Virgin Atlantic is offering a relaxed status match promotion for British Airways elite members until 23 February 2026. They can still use the status match promotion after 23 February 2026; however, they will need to have the top tier to match Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold. This may not apply if they have already applied once in the past five years.
