About PointsMath

Life is about taking the right steps. Sometimes these steps are in the Air too, or in a nice hotel room with a view; whether you do it with points or cash, doesn’t matter; what matters is the experience and the stories for a lifetime to come.

My first steps into the World of Points & Miles were taking my first flight with Jet Airways from Delhi to Guwahati. Soon after, I registered for the Jet Airways Frequent Flyer Program on June 14, 2016.

Jet Airways was terrific, and my business-class flight was with them, for which I paid nothing extra beyond my economy flight cost. Yeah, I was upgraded, based on the promotion running at that time.

There used to be a lot of Co-Branded Jet Airways Cards, including Debit Cards. I applied for a debit card as those were my initial work days. Soon thereafter, I was flying Jet Airways.

And, just by that, Jet Airways JetMiles got me into frequent flyer programs.

I enjoyed every bit of that travel, including the food. Soon after that, I also travelled with Vistara, which was a pleasant experience. With frequent flying and not so challenging to achieve tier requirements, I reached Club Vistara “Silver Status”, but the pandemic came. During this time, a Status Match offer for Club ITC Came. Which I matched using Vistara Silver Elite Status and remained until the end of 31st Dec 2022.

During the pandemic years, I stayed at many branded hotel chains. As a result, I became more familiar with their loyalty programs, which allowed me to understand (to some extent) “how all these work. These things saved me money and increased my points earnings. I also reached elite status without meeting the minimum number of elite nights, thanks to many offers.

During these years, I also got my hands on Credit Card stuff, which resulted in me having an “HDFC Infinia” and “Axis Magnus” credit card and an offer to upgrade to an “American Express Platinum Charge Card.”

Over time, I accumulated significant points in the Hotel Loyalty Program and on my credit cards! I looked up ways to maximise my points and miles online. However, there was no good Indian website that was good enough, except for Livefromalounge & Cardexpert. I always wanted more.

Then, in November 2022, an Idea came to mind: “PointsMath,” an idea to simplify the complexities of points and miles relevant to India.

So, we launched Points Math  for Indian Travellers to maximise the value of their points. Points Math’s motto is to provide our travellers and readers with information that simplifies the complex world of credit card points, airlines, and hotels.

PointsMath endeavours to help travellers understand this world so they can dream big on a lie-flat seat on an Aircraft or while sipping a coffee on a hotel balcony, all while travelling with an upgraded, world-class experience without spending a lot of money.

The team (Just Me!) at Points Math works rigorously and extensively daily to bring relevant information to our traveller readers.

We focus on sharing information that gives travellers a guide and DIY approach to maximise the accumulation and redemption of points across the value chain of Credit Cards, Airlines, and Hotels.

We love being in a long-term relationship with our traveller readers and would love to hear their stories and approaches to the world of points.
