Avios is the Miles Currency of Aer Lingus, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia Airlines & Qatar Airways. These airlines are members of the OneWorld Alliance, except Aer Lingus. All five airlines have separate frequent flyer programs, but Avios can be transferred among them within a minute, primarily via British Airways. You can also buy Avios during Bonus or discount promotions. Now, Finnair is offering up to 40% discount on the purchase of Avios. However, you can always transfer credit card points from Axis Bank, Amex, HDFC, HSBC TravelOne Card & SBI Miles to earn Avios.
Please note that to transfer Avios between your British Airways and Iberia Airlines accounts, they must be 90 days old.

Usually, one Avios costs 2.44 cents or ₹ 2.16. This offer reduces this to 1.47 cents or ₹ 1.29 per Avios, which is a decent price. But we have seen lower prices. Another option is to apply for an IndusInd Bank Avios Credit Card, with which you get 20K Avios for a fee of ₹10K plus taxes.
Also, any purchase of Avios from Finnair is processed through Points.com. Since the purchase is not marked as an Airline Purchase, a good Forex card must be used (Prices can be in USD).

Bottomline
There are several ways to earn Avios in India. However, buying Avios during bonus or discount promotions is also helpful when the price is right. However, be aware of high fuel surcharges on Qatar Airways and British Airways. This offer, however, is decent. If you are not interested, check the Avianca Lifemiles or Aeroplan points and Alaska Airlines offers from time to time, which have a low fuel surcharge and reasonable pricing. However, you can also redeem Avios for some fantastic travel, like I redeemed for Malaysia Airlines Business Class.
