What is Vistara Airlines Frequrent Flyer Program “Club Vistara”?
The frequent flyer program “Club Vistara” is a free-to-join reward program for Vistara Airlines or partner airline travellers. In Club Vistara, you earn CV Points just like the reward points you earn on your credit card. The CV Points are a short form of “Club Vistara Points”. These earned CV Points can be used for travelling-related activities, including purchasing a Vistara Airline Air ticket. Such air tickets are Award Tickets available in limited numbers on a particular flight.

Welcome benefit:
You can earn 500 CV Points for joining Club Vistara. However, the bonus points would only be credited to your Club Vistara accounts if you onboard a Vistara flight before 31st March 2023. Also, earn Purple Ticket worth INR 7,500 on taking six flights by enrolling.
The Club Vistara tiers
All Club Vistara members are allotted a group based on the spending and flights taken by the members. This allotted group is a tier. There are 4 Club Vistara tiers:
- CV Base
- CV Silver
- CV Gold
- CV Platinum
New members who register for Club Vistara are allotted a CV Base tier. However, the member tier would change based on the number of flights taken and tier points earned on these flights in the previous 365 days.
How do you earn Tier Points?
Based on your tier, you get tier points for the amount spent on booking a Vistara Airlines flight. Here are the tier-wise CV Points you get on every Rs. 100 spending in your Club Vistara accounts:
- CV Base – 8 CV Points
- CV Silver – 9 CV Points
- CV Gold – 10 CV Points
- CV Platinum – 11 CV Points
Note: CV Points are only earned on Base Fare and exclude additional charges such as Surcharge, Airport Fees, etc.
Criteria for deciding the Club Vistara tier
Vistara Airlines have updated the criteria w.e.f 01st Jan 2023 for deciding a member tier group. The below table summarizes the criteria for deciding Club Vistara Tier:

After changes in Club Vistara frequent flyer program applicable from 01st Jan 2023, you would need to earn both the Tier Points and also you have to complete flight bookings. Earlier, it used to be easier to achieve a particular tier, but that is past now.
Spending to Achieve or Upgrade in Club Vistara Tiers
The spending on Vistara Airlines has to be significant to achieve the highest tier. Even the Silver Tier needs sizeable spending. Here is the total amount of Base fare spending you need for every tier:
CV Base to CV Silver: Rs. 1.88 Lacs
CV Silver to CV Gold: Rs. 1.11 Lacs Additional
CV Gold to CV Platinum: Rs. 1 Lacs Additional
Note: The amount of spending would increase based on Airport Fees, Fuel Surcharges, etc.
As Vistara Airlines travellers, you must spend a minimum of Rs. 1.88 lacs to achieve a CV Silver tier, whereas Rs. 3.99 Lacs to achieve CV Platinum. If travelling domestically, one would need a sizeable number of flights to spend Rs. 4 Lacs in economy class. Still, the number of flights reduces further as one book in a premium economy or Business Class due to higher flight prices in that cabin class. However, if travelling internationally, the number of flights taken to achieve CV Platinum will reduce the number of flights taken due to higher flight prices.
How can the Club Vistara tier be achieved or upgraded for less than Rs. 10,000?
CV Gold is the highest tier for less than Rs. 10,000. This is possible because of the Co-Branded Vistara Airlines Credit Cards.

If you get a hold of an Axis Vistara Infinite Card, you will not have to spend Rs. 3 lacs to achieve CV Gold. You would save time as you don’t have to take a flight. So having an Axis Vistara Infinite does make sense. However, Co-Branded Credit Cards offering Silver are also good enough to take a look.

Benefits of a Club Vistara members
The benefits of a Vistara club membership vary based on which tier you’re in. Here are tier-wise benefits for Club Vistara members
CV Base Member Benefits:
No benefits are available for CV Base members however, you can earn additional 500 CV Points on your first flight if you travel before 31st March 2023.
CV Silver Member Benefits:
The CV Silver member gets the following benefits:
- Priority Airport Check-in at Premium Economy even if you’re flying economy class
- 1 One-Class Upgrade Voucher on Tier Upgrade

There are not many benefits for CV Silver members. However, Priority Airport Check-in at the airport can save time. Even the One-Class Upgrade Voucher can save much money if used for Premium Economy to Business Class Upgrade. However, using it for Economy to Premium Economy would not give a lot of benefits. You can save Rs. 10,000 on your Business Class Upgrade, giving you a 10% return on tier spending of around Rs. 2 lacs in addition to the CV Points you earn.
CV Gold Members Benefits:

You would save a lot of time with CV gold as you skip the long queues at the time of check-in and get your baggage very early at the baggage belt. The 2 One-Class Upgrade vouchers on Tier Upgrade and 3 One-Class Upgrade Vouchers on Tier Renewal give a good 14% back when you use them for Business Class Upgrade.

In addition to benefits available to CV Gold members, the CV Platinum members get some great benefits such as Fly Early and Vistara Select. Even the number of One-Class Upgrade vouchers is good enough for an upgrade on International flights.
Use of One-Class Upgrade Vouchers on Vistara International Flights
The One-Class Upgrade Vouchers allow you to upgrade your class from economy to premium economy or to business class. If you wish to upgrade from economy class to business class, two One-Class Upgrade vouchers are needed.
However, One-Class Upgrade works differently on Vistara Airlines International flights. On a short-distance Vistara international flight, you would need 2 One-Class Upgrade vouchers to upgrade from economy class to premium economy. In case of an upgrade to Business Class from Premium Economy, 4 One-Class Upgrade vouchers are needed. A total of 6 One-Class upgrade vouchers would be needed to upgrade from economy class to business class as against 2 in the case of domestic flights. But there is a significant difference in prices of economy class and business class, sometimes even in lacs.

Pro Tip: You can use One-Class Upgrade Voucher for yourself, a companion or a nominee if OTP is provided during the Upgrade.
Note: Connecting flights are considered two different flights; therefore, if you wish to upgrade on both flights, you would need two One-Class Upgrade Vouchers.
FlyEarly with Vistara for Everyone:
A Vistara Airline passenger can use the FlyEarly feature if they have reached the airport at least 4 hours before their scheduled departure. However, your seat will only be confirmed one hour before departure. You need to pay Rs. 3000 for using this service if the fare of a new flight is less than the actual fare of a later flight. As a CV Platinum member privilege, this fee of Rs. 3,000 is not payable.
Pro Tip: Book Economy Flexi, Premium Economy Standard, Premium Economy Flexi, Business Standard, and Business Flexi to save Rs. 3,000 even if you are not a CV Platinum member if the price on the earlier flight is lower.
Note: This benefit is only available in the domestic sector, which means this benefit would be for a limited number of travellers from a limited number of CV platinum members.
Vistara Select
The Vistara Select allows you to Select the seat of your choice in an Economy class. It is not available for Premium Economy or Business Class. In Vistara Select, you are charged a fee for choosing a particular seat classified as a preferred, emergency exit row, or standard seat. The prices vary for Vistara Select from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1200 per seat for domestic flights, and prices for International flights vary from USD 8 to USD 60 based on your destination. However, CV Platinum members do not have to pay to use Vistara Select.

Travelling on a Singapore airline, irrespective of the cabin-class access, is provided for Krisflyer gold lounge at Singapore Airport tier 2 & 3 for CV Gold and CV Platinum members. The CV Points earned or accumulated in your Club Vistara account can be used to purchase a flight ticket or upgrade cabin class. These CV Points can easily be used in the Club Vistara account for flights operated by Vistara Airlines. The redemption for a domestic award Vistara flight ticket starts from 2000 CV points and 500 points for an upgrade of class, whereas on Vistara, international flight redemption starts from 20000 CV Points.

Redemption Value of CV Points:
The Club Vistara CV Points offer great INR value per CV point. The INR value per CV point can easily be Rs. 1. However, long flights provide the best value. International flights can give more than Rs. 1 per point.
Case Study on Redemption Value of CV Points on Vistara Domestic Flight:
The longest domestic flight for Vistara Airlines is from Delhi to Trivandrum, with a flying time of 3h 20m and an air distance of over 2200 Km. We checked for flights between these two airports for 22nd Feb 2023. The price per economy ticket was Rs. 9315; however, we found an award flight ticket for 7500 CV Points with Rs. 527 payable as taxes, giving Rs. 1.17 per CV Point.

Case Study on Redemption Value of CV Points on Vistara International Flight:
The longest domestic flight for Vistara Airlines is from Delhi to London, with a flying time of 9h 55m and an air distance of over 6700 Km. We checked for flights between these two airports for 22nd Feb 2023. The price per economy ticket was Rs. 59847; however, we found an award flight ticket for 30000 CV Points with Rs. 1409 payable as taxes, giving Rs. 1.95 per CV Point.

Bottomline
The Vistara Airlines frequent flyer program, Club Vistara, is amazing and rewarding for air travellers. It is truly one of its kind in India and comparable to other International Airlines.
