Qatar Airways is one of the few airlines whose miles (Avios) can be converted into Marriott Bonvoy points. Usually, we see bonus promotions from airlines on transferring hotel points to mileage accounts. Lately, we have also seen airlines offering bonus points on transferring miles to hotel programs, such as Singapore Airlines Krisflyer to Marriott Points and now Qatar Airways Avios to Marriott Bonvoy.
Qatar Airways and Marriott Bonvoy Partnership
Here is how the Qatar Airways and Marriott Bonvoy Partnership works:
- Avios Earning:
- Earn up to 2 Avios per $1 on Marriott Hotels if you have chosen to earn miles.
- Convert 3 Marriott Bonvoy points into 1 Avios with a Bonus of 5K Avios on converting 60K points in one transaction. This option is much better than earning Avios directly.
- Marriott Bonvoy Points Earning:
- You can convert Avios to Marriott Bonvoy Points in a 2:1 ratio.
Avios to Marriott Points with 30% Bonus Promotion
When transferring Avios to Marriott Points, you will receive a flat 30% Bonus in Marriott Bonvoy Points.
Basics
Usually, you can transfer 2 Avios to 1 Marriott Bonvoy point. With this promotion, you will get 1.3 Marriott Points for every 2 Avios transferred. A minimum of 1000 Points is required for conversion.

- Transfer/Conversion should be between 15 October 2025 and 15 November 2025.
Should you Transfer?
Marriott Bonvoy Points are among the easiest to earn and have a soft expiry of 24 months. Qatar Airways Avios are also easier to earn because they are the currency of multiple airlines, including British Airways, Iberia & Finnair. Since both Marriott Bonvoy Points & Avios are easier to earn, it doesn’t make sense to use this promotion.
The only scenario it may make sense is if you want to transfer your HDFC Points (India) to Marriott Bonvoy, then transfer to Finnair in a 1:1 ratio, then to Qatar Airways, and then back to Marriott Bonvoy to get a 2:1.3 instead of a 2:1 ratio. But again, you can earn Marriott Points fairly easily by holding an HDFC Bank Marriott Bonvoy Card.
Alternative: Buy Marriott Bonvoy Points
Marriott Bonvoy is running a promotion where you can buy points at 0.89 cents or ₹0.79 per point.
Bottomline
Qatar Airways is offering a 30% Bonus on converting Avios to Marriott Bonvoy on all conversions till 15th November 2025. This promotion makes sense only for select cases.
