Cathay Pacific Publishes Asia Miles award chart for their flights. For Partner flights, the award chart isn’t published. However, partner airlines always require 5 to 10K of extra Asis miles for the same route.

It also publishes an award chart where two or more OneWorld Airlines are travelling in a journey, also known as OneWorld multi-carrier award.

New Asia Miles Award Chart

What has changed?

A lot has changed between the Old & New Asia Miles Award Chart.

Firstly, Ultra Short flights no longer have listed award miles for First Class Miles. Probably because there were no flights with First Class Cabin, apart from that miles requirement are same. Apart from that, there are no changes for Ultra Short Flights.

Short Flights Award earlier were between 751 to 2750 miles. Now, there are two Short Flights awards. Based on the cities given, I find that if the air mile distance is less than 1800 air miles, it will fall under Short-Type 1 and require fewer miles. Whereas distances above 1800 miles and up to 2750 will fall under Short Type-2. So, Cities moving from normal short to short type-2 will require 2500 to 10000 extra Asia Miles. For Cities in Short Type, -1 will require 2K to 3K extra miles.

For Medium Flight Awards, there is one positive change. Now, economy class flights require 2K less miles. However, the cabin class miles have increased from 8K to 20K.

Earlier, there were two Long Flight Awards. Now these have been done away with. Again, Economy Cabin Class Miles has been reduced to 27K miles from 30K miles. However, other cabin miles requirements have been increased between 10K to 25K Miles.

Ultra Long Flight Awards also requires fewer miles for Economy Cabin travel where, as another cabin requirement has increased.

Overall, the Miles requirement for the Economy Cabin class has either remained the same or has decreased except for Short Type-2 Routes, where the miles requirement has increased by 2500 Miles.

All other cabin class Miles requirement has increased.
