Another frequent flyer program from Star Alliance, Miles & More, has monthly promo awards for mileage bargains. Here are the January 2025 Miles & More Mileage Bargains Promo Awards.
Miles & More Mileage Bargains Basics
- Select routes (In Europe) are eligible for a 50% Mileage Discount.
- Mileage Bargains Costs (Roundtrip):
- 30K in Economy Cabin
- 40K in Premium Economy
- 55K in Business Class
- Promo Awards are available every month.
- Travel dates should be within a fixed period. For example, in January 2025, travel should be between 15 April 2025 and 31 May 2025. However, some routes are available from 01 February to 31 March 2025 and 15 February 2025 to 31 March 2025.
- Eligible Cabins:
- Economy Cabins, Premium Economy & Business Class
- Business Class flights within Europe are more like premium economy.
- Premium Economy Flights within Europe would mostly be in Economy Cabin.
- Awards are non-cancellable or changeable.
- The return flight should be after a gap of at least one day.
- Stopovers are not allowed.
- Bookable online.
- Taxes are applicable
- You will need a minimum of 7K miles in the account to search for an award.
- Taxes and surcharges, as applicable, are payable.
Which Miles & More Airlines flies from India?
At present, only three Miles & More Airlines fly from India, so Mileage Bargains would be made available on these airlines:
- Lufthansa: From Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai & Hyderabad
- LOT Polish: From Delhi & Mumbai
- Swiss Airlines: From Delhi & Mumbai
Transit Visa
Indians may need to apply for a transit Visa when transiting via Germany; certain exceptions apply. However, the same is not applicable for Poland & Switzerland (You should check if you need a transit visa anyway, as transit visa rules can be changed anytime).
Specific routes, such as flights to the United Kingdom, Turkey, Georgia etc, may be outside the Schengen Area.
Current Miles & More Mileage Bargains from India
- This month, there are 278 possible options for Indian Travellers, and all of these options are available from Delhi.
- Only Economy & Premium Economy Cabins are available. No Business Class cabin this month.
Note: The flights within Europe will be in economy instead of premium economy, as Lufthansa has only two class configurations within Europe.

Delhi to Most of Europe
- You can fly between Delhi & Most of Europe with this month’s mileage bargain.
- A round trip in the economy cabin will cost 30K Miles, whereas a premium economy will cost 40K miles.
India to UK
- This route is one of my favourite.
- You can fly between India (Delhi) and the UK (London and other cities, too) in just 30K miles round trip and 40K for premium economy.
India to Turkey
- Another option is to fly between India (Delhi) & Turkey (Istanbul, Ankara & Antalya).
- This route will also cost 30K in economy & 40K in premium economy.
Fly to the USA from UK
The mileage bargains are also available from UK to US, that too in Business Class (SWISS).
Fly to Europe from USA in Business Class for 55K Miles

How much Taxes would you pay?
Miles & Miles have significant tax & fuel surcharges.
Let’s take an example of an economy flight between Bangalore (BLR) & Munich, which costs 38.5K. This 38.5K includes a carrier-imposed surcharge (YQ) of 14827, which is charged for all economy flights from India by Miles & More. This will be increased by other charges, excluding YR.
The good thing is that business Class carrier-imposed charges (YQ) are not very significant compared to Economy flights.
How to earn Miles & More Mileage in India?
Miles & More program miles are one of the toughest to earn; however, it is not impossible. Here are ways to earn Miles & More Mileage in India:
