If you have been travelling abroad and use ride-hailing services like Uber or Grab, you can also earn miles on them. Last year, I was in the UK, took a few Uber rides, and earned British Airways Avios. You can also do the same in some countries. Here are the airlines that offer miles on Uber Rides.
Uber Airline Partners

- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles (New)

Earn Qantas Points in Australia with Uber
Last month, I was in Australia and had to use Uber once. I checked that Qantas and Uber are partners linked both accounts and earned some Qantas Points on that Uber Ride.

Unlike other Airline partners, earning Qantas Points with Uber differs slightly. You only earn Qantas Points on Uber rides to or from select Australian Airports. That means you will not earn miles on travel within Australia. This essentially means the earning opportunity is limited.

- Earn Regular Points:
- You will earn 1 Qantas Point for every AUD 2; if you book an Uber Reserve, you will earn 1 Qantas Point for every AUD spent on Uber.
- Bonus Points:
- Sign Up Bonus: Earn 1000 Bonus Points for the first ride within Australia.
Miles are credited within 24 hours of the trip’s completion. However, Bonus Miles will be credited within six weeks.
Eligible Airports: Adelaide, Avalon, Ballina/Byron Bay, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Devonport, Emerald/Central Highlands, Gladstone, Gold Coast, Hobart, Launceston, Mackay, Melbourne, Mildura, Newcastle, Perth, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Sydney, Toowoomba, Townsville, Whitsundays/Proserpine.

Linking Airlines Account & Uber Account
Here is the simplest way to link an Airline Account and an Uber Account. First, you can do this if you are already in a country where both airlines are partners.
- Open account settings in the Uber app
- Scroll Down to “Rewards” Section.
- Select the partner airlines
- After selection link your account.
Bottomline
Earning Miles on Uber rides is possible. In select countries, you have the option to link the partner airline and Uber account. Once linked, you receive miles from that airline whenever you ride with Uber in that country. Opportunities also exist to earn miles on Uber Eats in some countries.
