Recently HDFC Bank added 17 new Transfer Partners. It already had three transfer partners. Usually, credit card issuer retains the same process for transferring points. But HDFC has two ways to transfer HDFC Points. The transfer process remains the same for existing (old three) partners. But, for now, with 17 transfer partners, the process is different. Here is your guide on transferring HDFC Points to old and new transfer partners.
Transfer HDFC Points to New Partners
To transfer HDFC Points to new partners, go to the HDFC Bank SmartBuy website.
Then over to “Privileges” and select your HDFC Bank Credit Card from which you want to transfer points. I’ll use Infinia here. Thereafter you will be taken to the HDFC Infinia web address. There you can see the “Miles Transfer” option for transferring points. Simply click on that and login.
A new page with a complete transfer partner of HDFC Bank will open.
I’ll use Accor here as a transfer partner. Once you click on “Convert Now”, a new page will open that will require you to enter details such as membership number or frequent flyer number along with your name.
Once you enter details, click confirm.
Then enter how many HDFC Points you want to transfer along with your email id and confirm. If you have failed points conversion, then you can use that here.
Once done, click convert now. You will receive an OTP for authentication of the points transfer transactions. Once authenticated, you will receive a success page with the notification, “We received your request to convert your Reward points to partner Miles/Points“.
Now, within the stipulated time, you will receive your points. In my case, I initiated the transfer transaction on 24th Feb 2023 for Accor. As per HDFC, it should take 120 hours, but I received points on 25th Feb . i.e. within one day.
But what caught my was the remarks that Accor had. It showed that I received points from “Standard Chartered Bank India”. Interestingly, Standard Chartered doesn’t have a points transfer facility for their credit card in India. So, It may be due to an error or an agreement of which I’m unaware. But I was happy to receive points within one day.
Transfer HDFC Points to Old Partners
To transfer HDFC points to old partners (Singapore Airlines, Vistara and Intermiles), log in to HDFC net banking and move to Card Sections.
Then click on “Redeem Reward Points” and choose your credit card. And, a new window will open. Hover to Airmiles.
You must register for a frequent flyer program for the first transfer. It only takes a few seconds to register. Here HDFC also asks for the FF Expiry date. Since your frequent flyer program membership doesn’t expire, you can use any future date.
Now you can use the platform to transfer points. You should select your airline, enter the HDFC points required to be transferred, and use the proceed button.
Now, you have to confirm for redemption.
Then you will receive your Order ID. That’s all you have to do to transfer HDFC Points.
If you want o track your status, you can do so from the order summary. According to HDFC, reward points will be transferred within seven working days. But in my case, it was transferred within two days. I placed my request on 28th Feb’2023.
And, I received points on 2nd March’2023. So, points transfer is quick.

You can transfer HDFC points with ease. It would have been great if they had also offered points transfer to old partners on the Smartbuy website, as it was pretty easy to use. Overall, quick and easy.
