Now, HSBC India has launched a transfer bonus promotion when you transfer points to the Marriott Bonvoy Account. This is a bonus promotion we weren’t expecting, as we are accustomed to seeing Amex launch such promotions.
HSBC India to Marriott Bonvoy Transfer Ratio Basics
HSBC India has launched a promotion where, when you transfer your HSBC Points to your Marriott Bonvoy account during the promotion period, you will get a 40% Bonus. That is a meaty bonus.

Should you transfer?
Marriott Bonvoy points don’t have a fixed value, so speculative transfers are not the best way here. However, even if you transfer it, it will make sense to book five award nights together to receive one night’s stay free of charge, thereby maximising the value per point.
Additionally, I highly recommend getting the HDFC Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card if you are a beginner to Marriott. This card also serves well for those who have been a Marriott Fanboy like me for years.
Another popular way to utilise Marriott Bonvoy Points is to transfer them to an Airline. Here are HSBC Partner airlines, where transferring it to Marriott and then to these airlines will get a better transfer ratio:
- United Airlines:
- Standard Transfer from HSBC 1:0.5 (Privé, Premier/Travel One)
- Ratio improved to 1:0.7 when using Marriott Bonvoy.
- EVA Air/Turkish Airlines:
- Standard Transfer from HSBC 1:0.5 (Privé, Premier/Travel One)
- Ratio improved to 1:0.59 when using Marriott Bonvoy.
- This applies when you transfer Marriott Points in multiples of 60K.
- Though you can always transfer to United or Turkish from Axis, if the EVA Air program is on your radar, you get more points on this route.
