IHG has been one of my favourite hotel loyalty programs, as earning IHG points and status is much easier. Also, they usually honour the status of the elite. If you are an IHG member, you can earn bonus points with the IHG 2K or 8K Bonus Points promotion for every two or 4-night stay.
IHG 2K or 8K Bonus Points Promotion
Registration is required to be a member of IHG One Rewards for this Promotion. You can register for one of the promotions. You can earn 2K Bonus Points for every two-night stay or 8K Bonus Points for every four-night stay. These points are above any other points you earned for your stays.
Basics of IHG 2K or 8K Promotion
- Registration is mandatory.
- Eligible for stays starting from 20th May 2025 to 31st August 2025.
- Minimum $30 per day room charges.
- Rewards Nights or Points & Cash are not Promotion Eligible
- Bookings made through online travel agencies or other reservation sites such as booking.com or expedia.com also do not qualify under this Promotion.
- Only one room is eligible for Promotion if multiple rooms are booked.
- The Bonus Points will be credited within six weeks.
- There is no limit on the number of points earned during the Promotion; only the limitation of days applies.
How to choose?
The 2K Points for every two nights make more sense if you have short stays coming up. However, 8K Points for 4 nights is better if you have planned long-term stays. Since there are 4K points for four nights, you will get 8K points if you stay for four nights during the promotion period.
How many points can you earn?
This Promotion runs for over 100 days and requires a minimum of $30 on room charges. So, there is an opportunity to earn IHG points between 100K and 200 K. At the same time, I value IHG points at ₹ 0.5 per point. That means 8K points have an approximate value of ₹4K or ₹1K per night. So, this is a decent promotion.
How can you maximise the “IHG 2K or 8K Bonus Points Promotion”?
In India, there are a few cards that offer accelerated earnings on hotel spending. One of the leading cards is the Axis Atlas Credit Card. If you have upcoming stays in India, it is a good card for hotels, as you earn 10 converted edge miles for every ₹100 spent.
Bottomline
The IHG 2K or 8K bonus points for every two or 4-night stay promotion is a decent promotion if you have upcoming stays planned. However, make sure to choose one of the options to earn points.
