- Select “Rewards” on the flight search page
- Enter origin, destination, and travel dates
- Review results and check the operating airline
- Log in to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account to book

How many Qantas Points do partner flights cost?
Qantas Frequent Flyer uses a distance-based award pricing system and applies different award charts depending on the airline and itinerary.
- Classic Flight Reward: Applies to Qantas-operated flights, Fiji Airways, American Airlines, and Jetstar flights booked under the Qantas Classic Flight Reward chart, as well as Emirates flights (for bookings made until 30 March 2026)
- Jet Classic Flight Reward: Applies to Jetstar-operated award flights only
- Emirates Classic Flight Reward: Applies to Emirates-operated flights for bookings made from 31 March 2026 onward.
- Partner Classic Flight Reward: Applies to all other partner airlines not covered by the Standard, Jetstar or Emirates charts
- OneWorld Classic Flight Reward: Applies when an itinerary includes two or more oneworld airlines, excluding Qantas, or three airlines including Qantas
In addition to Classic Flight Rewards, Qantas introduced Classic Plus Flight Rewards in 2024, which use dynamic pricing instead of a fixed award chart.
Note: The exact number of Qantas Points required depends on the distance flown, cabin class, and the applicable award chart.
What to do in case of inconsistent or no availability of partner fights
If you do not find award availability on Qantas, even though it is available through other partner programs like American Airlines or Alaska Airlines, you should be able to book it through Qantas Customer Support. However, not all partner availability shown by other programs is bookable using Qantas Points.
Third-party award search tools, such as Seats Aero, can help ifind partner award availability before searching on Qantas.
Fees and Charges When Using Qantas Points
- Taxes and carrier charges apply to most partner awards, including significant surcharges
- Charges are generally higher with airlines such as Emirates and British Airways, as Qantas passes on the charges they apply.
- Some airlines, including American Airlines, do not add fuel surcharges
- Phone booking may incur a Qantas service fee (e.g., A$77), whereas online bookings generally do not.
- Cancellation can be done online, and charges are payable in Qantas Points.
Bottomline
Qantas has a wide range of airline partners across oneworld and beyond, and most partner award flights can be booked online using Qantas Points, though taxes and carrier charges apply.
