Is it worth it to book a Scoot Award Flight?

I will say it is not so straightforward. It may appear that the saver miles are so few for a route; however, the actual pricing may also be low, considering Scoot is a low-cost carrier.

For Example, the Chennai to Sydney flight is available for 16K on 14th December 2025, which you can either pay in full cash or use Krisflyer Miles as a payment option, translating to 23600 Miles, giving you a fixed value of 1 SGD per 100 miles or ₹0.67 per mile.

Now, if you want to book this as an award flight, this route will cost 20.5K Miles plus ₹ 6K in taxes, essentially giving you a value of 0.71 cents or ₹ 0.48 per mile.

So, the Scoot award can be a good option; however, not always, since you don’t get all the benefits of Singapore Airlines unless you’re a Krisflyer Elite or PPS elite member.

Difference Between Scoot and Singapore Airlines Award Flight

lthough award flights may sound exciting, starting at 1500 Krisflyer Miles, there are significant differences between Scoot and Singapore Airlines Award Flights.

Firstly, Scoot is a low-cost carrier, so you get a flight ticket and 10 KG cabin baggage, and for everything else you need to pay. However, with Singapore Airlines, you get a flight ticket, cabin baggage, check-in baggage, a free meal, standard seat selection, a cancellation option, in-flight entertainment (which is good), blankets, etc.

So, neither is directly comparable.

Bottomline

Scoot Flight Awards is another way to redeem Krisflyer Miles. However, even though the mileage appears less, the actual cost of the flight can also be less as Scoot is a low-cost carrier. Also, you can always redeem Krisflyer Miles directly against the price of a flight ticket instead of using the approach of an award flight. However, the best way will always be redeeming it for Singapore Airlines.
