Turkish Miles have faced devaluation. I read on the price of travel that the Turkish miles award chart has been updated. However, the Turkish airline’s award booking tool shows the old rate. Initially, no official intimidation was communicated; however, the website was updated later, stating that the new award chart is effective from 15th Feb 2024. It would be better to book if you already have plans or a stash of Turkish miles before the booking tool starts showing new pricing. In the worst case, you would have to pay $70 [only if it is not updated] for cancellation. Here is what has changed with the Turkish Miles Devaluation.
Turkish Airlines Awards
Turkish Airlines had two award charts: one was promotional, and the other was conventional or normal-priced award charts. This still holds true.
However, the number of miles has increased significantly, and that too with segment-based. That means you must now pay miles for the Turkish Airlines award on a per-segment basis. For Example, miles of DEL-IST & IST-LHR will be added. Earlier, it was purely based on where you started and where you landed. I always wondered why the Turkish hadn’t done anything about it. Now, it has been corrected.
Here is the new Turkish Airlines Award Chart; it is a one-way award chart. Earlier, they had a Round-Trip award chart.
Star Alliance Awards
Not only Turkish but also Star Alliance Awards are updated. But here, one thing is positive.
Turkish Airlines Promotional Awards pricing was also applicable for Star Alliance flights. That has remained this time, too. However, changes have been made to Star Alliance’s domestic flights.

Note: New Promotional pricing is somewhere around where the old normal pricing used to be. New Normal Pricing is also higher than earlier.
What to do with existing miles?
Old pricing is still being used to book online on the Turkish website. And, if your plan is even more or less confirmed, go ahead and make the booking if you can find the Turkish Airlines Sweet Spots. The cancellation is only $70, if needed, which may be increased by the airline.
Don’t rush and try to transfer miles, which aren’t instant like Axis. You can still have some better opportunities rather than transferring in a jiffy.
