It has been time since Yes Bank Launched a rewards subscription plan for its credit card. Yes Bank Rewards Subscription Plan is a unique program wherein you accelerate your reward points earning for an annual fee. This program is worth it for select Yes Bank Credit Cards.
What is the Yes Bank Rewards Subscription Plan?
Yes Bank Rewards Subscription Plan is a reward points multiplier plan. This means you get to multiply your points based on the subscription plan chosen. Since this plan works as a multiplier, spending that doesn’t earn any base points in the subscription plan won’t work. After all, the multiplication of anything with zero is zero.
Eligible Credit Cards
Not all Yes Bank Credit Cards are eligible for the Subscription Plan.
The following credit cards are eligible for the Yes Bank Rewards Subscription Plan:
- ACE Credit Card
- SELECT Credit Card
- YES Prosperity Rewards Credit Card
- FinBooster Credit Card
- ELITE+ Credit Card
- RESERV Credit Card
- YES First Preferred Credit Card
Subscription Plans
Yes Bank Rewards Subscription Plan has two subscription options. One is a 3x Subscription Plan, which makes your regular points up to 3x on all eligible spending, and the other is a 5x subscription plan, which makes your regular points up to 5x on select eligible spending.
3x Subscription Plan
If you subscribe for a 3x, your regular points will be multiplied by 3.
For example, the Yes Bank Reserv Credit Card gives 12 points for offline spending, and with a 3x subscription plan, you will earn 36 [12*3] reward points.
If you are unsure how many points a 3x subscription will give you on your credit card, check here.
Here is how much a 3x Rewards Subscription Plan costs, further increased by 18% GST:
Credit Card | 3x Subscription Cost |
ACE Credit Card | 1000 |
SELECT Credit Card | 1000 |
Yes Prosperity Rewards Credit Card | 1000 |
FinBooster Credit Card | 1000 |
ELITE Credit Card | 1500 |
RESERV Credit Card | 3500 |
YES First Preferred Credit Card | 3500 |
5x Subscription Plan
If you subscribe for 5x, your regular points will be multiplied by five on spending in the Travel, Dining, Fashion, and healthcare categories.
For example, the Yes Bank Reserv Credit Card gives 12 points for eligible offline spending, and with a 5x subscription plan, you will earn 60 [12*5] reward points.
If you are unsure how many points a 5x subscription will give you on your credit card, check here.

Should you subscribe?
Most cardholders will get excited about accelerated earnings. However, you should ask yourself whether you should subscribe. Why?
Simply because there is a cost attached to it.
Let’s take the example of a Yes Reserve Credit Card. This card member will need to spend a minimum of INR 69K to benefit from the 3x plan and a minimum of INR 72K to benefit from the 5x plan, assuming it is a lifetime-free credit card.
In the end, your breakeven point or subscription benefit will depend upon three things:
- Annual Fees, unless waived or free
- Subscription Plan Fees
- Spending Categories and Composition
Which Plan to choose?
You will have this question while selecting your Yes Bank Rewards Subscription Plan. And the right person to answer this question is no one else but you.
As a rule of thumb, if your total spending is more than 50% on the travel, dining, fashion, and healthcare categories, go with the 5x plan. At 50%, 3x and 5x plans will give the same return.
Let’s say you spend INR 5 Lakh annually online on Yes Bank RESERV Credit Card, of which 50% is on dining, travel, fashion, and healthcare. Then, with 3x points, you will earn INR 30K worth of points; with 5x points too, you get INR 30K. So, unless you spend 50% or more on travel, dining, fashion, and healthcare, the 3x plan is good enough.
However, before you do anything, make sure to have the default reward rate on your credit card and know your spending habits for the next year.
Non-Eligible Spending
Apart from standard ineligible spending on your credit card, booster earning with a subscription plan will consider the below spending as ineligible:
- Fuel
- Pawn Shops
- Video Game Arcades/Establishments
- Dating/Escort Services
- Gambling Transactions Betting (Sportsbook, fantasy, social gaming)
