Flying Blue Promo Rewards are launched on 1st working day of the month. Promo Rewards is a great way to use flying blue miles for KLM & Air France Flights. However, it is not available for SkyTeam Alliance or Partner flights. All KLM & Air France flights would be via their hubs in France or the Netherlands and then to your final destination. But who’s complaining? The miles requirement is not very high, and you can also use the free stopover if you want one.

How do you check the Flying Blue Promo Award Availability?
The easiest way to know whether any Flying Blue promo award is available is to use the excellent Calender View tool. Don’t put in any dates while searching for rewards, and if any promo reward seats are available, the calendar result will show them in green, as you can see below. The calendar is flawed, but it can be used without specific dates.

How to maximize flying blue promo rewards?
As I told you earlier, Flying Blue long-haul promo rewards can be booked between any European city and an eligible non-European city, allowing you to maximize your rewards.
For example (for reference only), if you travel between Warsaw and Dallas during the promo reward promotion on Air France metal, you can book a free stopover with Flying Blue customer support in Paris.

So, you can have several European city options you can travel to & from and are not necessarily limited to Amsterdam or Paris.
Positing Flights
If your city is not eligible for this month’s promo rewards, positing flights can be a good way to save money and miles. For example, you can choose to fly from Hong Kong instead of your home airport to get the benefit of flying blue promo rewards if flying from your home airport is expensive.
Do Promo Rewards offer the same benefits as regular rewards?
Yes, Flying Blue Promo Rewards offer the same benefits as Usual Rewards.
All usual economy class rewards conditions apply for economy promo rewards, including cancellation charges.

This is even true for business-class rewards.

Fuel Surcharge & Taxes
The Fuel Surcharge Taxes remain the same regardless of the fare rewards you book. This, however, varies for the cabin class you book.
Air France or KLM charges a hefty fuel surcharge on their Business Cabin Class rewards and a moderate surcharge on Economy Cabin Class rewards.
